Hospitality
The St James Christmas card for this year bears a not-so-domestic scene of hospitality; hospitality shown by a homeless person to a banker who carries a box as one might do when recently asked to clear one’s desk. Surrounded by lashing rain and general discomfort there is still a place for some warmth and kindness; which I think echoes the spirit of Christmas nicely; not a sense that all is well or will be well tomorrow, but a gentle shaft of light cast into the darkness.
